I'm not sure I understand your setup completely, could you please describe it in more detail: Is the PointAttachment attached at a skin-bone (a bone that is only part of a certain skin)? Could you post a screenshot of the Hierarchy panel in Spine showing where your PointAttachment is placed?
If the PointAttachment is attached to a normal bone, when using e.g. a PointFollower
script in Unity it should work regardless of whether any skin is active or not.
