For some reason, in Spine 4.2.39, the hotkeys I use very frequently doesn't work in Animate Mode. I made sure the keys are not used in other commands (I noticed Y was also Next Animation, but I wasn't sure if the update forced that)
Edit Mesh and Mesh Trace Hotkey not working in Animate Mode
In Spine 4.2.39, if your hotkeys for "Edit Mesh" and "Mesh Trace" are not working in Animate Mode, there are a few things you can check. First, ensure that the hotkeys are correctly set in the hotkeys file. You can access this by clicking the Spine logo in the top left corner, selecting settings, and then navigating to the Application tab under Files -> Hotkeys. Use CTRL/CMD-F to find and set the hotkeys. Additionally, check your spine.log
file for any errors that might indicate conflicts or issues with the hotkeys. It's also possible that a recent update might have changed default hotkey settings, so reviewing and resetting them might help.
If two hotkeys use the same letter, then one of the two won't work. You could edit the unwanted hotkey out or change it to something else, or also leave it empty if you don't feel the need to have it.
Erika For clarification, I already deleted the key of the other Hotkey, but the keys I'm having problems with are still not working in Animate Mode (only in Setup Mode they work).
skarasuko Your description made me think that this was available in earlier versions, but when I went back and tried it in older versions, it seems that in the animate mode it is not possible to enter mesh edit mode or do tracing via hotkeys.
If you ask me if there is a reason why you can't enter animate mode from a hotkey, I can't think of a clear reason at the moment, but since this was the specification in previous versions, I think it may be a future improvement rather than a bug. I will create an issue so that we do not forget to look into this.
