packing while also checking the Square
option.
The reason inefficient results arise is because there is a limit to the number of attempts made for texture packing. If attempts continued indefinitely without this limit, in pursuit of the most efficient result, it would appear as if the editor had frozen for an extended period. Instead, it's faster for the user to review the results and manually adjust the Max width
and Max height
to eliminate the extra blank space.
Packing efficiency has been improved several times in the past, so such results should be much less likely to occur. However, the 16384*16384 size is quite large, so it might be difficult to handle properly. If you encounter large white spaces, please review the values for Max width and height.
Regarding when version 4.3.40-beta will be released, I'm afraid we still can't provide a definite date at this time. We've been on this version for quite some time now, so we don't expect it to take too long.
